Volunteering in Minneapolis
Larry was able to keep his patience with me, while I hammered in a few crooked nails, but by the end of the day, he and I were a well oiled machine. He has been volunteering for over 20 years with the Minneapolis Habitat, and I was told that he has gone so far as to buy a home, repair it, and donate it to the non-profit.
The best part about working with habitat is that, when you are done, you know that you are leaving something permanent behind. The stairs that we built will be walked on for the next 20 years, hopefully.
I kind of rushed out of Minnesota
When I was growing up, my family would take trips to a Lake in NW WI every summer to fish, camp and visit family and friends. As luck would have it, those family and friends were up at their cabins that week..
I sped off towards the opportunity for fishing, family and the Green Bay Packers.
